What a fun, wonderful, successful and most importantly, fine weather night tonight.
Tonight was the IET's BBQ Night Out, and yours truly is part of the organizing committee. XD
When S and I took up the job, we were clueless of where to start. The President has high expectations on us. He gave his order : Make this year's BBQ informal and casual, and different from previous years.
We definitely needed help from other people. After asking our friends and people around, we finally managed to recruit VJ and P. We had meetings - brainstormed, search for caterers, list of things to buy and of course trying to keep within the TIGHT budget.
After a couple of weeks of preparations, we finalized everything - food, tables, chairs, canopy etc etc. And tonight is the night!
I went to the venue after my class and was the 1st person to arrive there. I was in charge, since S had his lab at that time. Another fella, V came by and helped out, giving me opinions and telling me to CHILL! Seriously needed to. LOL
The students arrived later than Dr V, who came early for a change, but nevertheless, the night kicked off with the students helping themselves to the catered food. The other IET committee members dealt with the BBQ pit and got the fire burning.
A group of PPOU students attended and I was touched coz they actually were very interested with the event. At the very last minute, I managed to get tickets for all 13 of them! What a turnout! Still, I was quite happy to see at least one guy, who happens to be my bro's ex-classmate. Such a small world huh? XD
I really thank God for such a fine-weather night. If its not for Him, it might not have be that smooth if black clouds appear in the sky. I was happy also that my friends came. Seeing familiar faces in the crowd really made me happy and I was touched for they came and supported the event I am co-organising. I also would like to thank those who have helped out and their commitment. The President even said : "I feel like crying" at the end of his speech. LOL
After this event, I have to think of another event to organise before the next AGM in August. Ah...still a long way to go...!

Free Hugs Campaign
[Yay! Finally got the photos that i needed]
Free Hugs Campaign. Ever heard of that? My group decided to do this campaign for our Projek Khidmat Siswa. Basically we are trying to spread the love around, meet new people, cheer people up and also give them the confidence to face the day. Those are some of the objectives of this campaign.
This campaign lasted for three days and was held in COIT, the Admin Building and also College of Engineering Block M.
Here are some of the photos to give a clearer picture of what this whole campaign is all about:
Volunteers along the way came to join us too.
Some of the people i have hugged :
We collect signatures too!!

People pass by.
They laughed.
They avoided us.
Some smiled politely and said " No thanks".
An international guy said "Free Hugs equal to gay!" and walked off.
But to us, doing something different than other groups and also something new gave us a great feeling. We enjoyed doing it, well to me at least. Cheers!!
